Good Morning Cynthia,

This article inevitably led to a lot of childhood memories and to the urge to write. Is there a way I could join this blog and submit some pieces? I would really appreciate your advise.

Daniel, you'll have to go back to Limón on Tuesday, July 12 (anytime after 5:30 p.m.) to join Mayor Swearengin and TasteFresno for the new Local Bites initiative! Nice blog post (I'm a little behind, haha).

Hello, this is a blog I wrote sort of in response to the audit of Child Protective Services...

Go to Henry T. Perea’s Assemblymember web site and you will find (in my case the biography page) a link labeled California Student Assistance Center. It is amazing to me what you can find on web sites. I mean we all know that the state of California is having financial problems yet some things continue, business as usual. While our governor makes headlines cutting the number of state paid cell phones and minimizing staff I continue to find information that requires little thought and makes me wonder, “What are we/they thinking?”

Clicking on this link from Assemblymember Perea’s web site (http://democrats.assembly.ca.gov/issues/StudentCenter/paying_colleg...) takes you to a page titled, “Preparing for College”. What comes to your mind when you hear or read these words? I’m thinking, parental advice like, “finish your homework”, “get good grades”, “stay out of trouble”, and in my case, “get up, you’re going to miss the bus!” For parents this might mean saving for their children’s education and all that entails. Now imagine that you are a high school student and you read these words, “It is free money and does not need to be paid back.”

Now I’m thinking, I found it, the salvation to all of California’s budget woes. Governor Brown are you listening? There it is, on this web page, it has to be real, right? The state of California wouldn’t lie would it? Being realistic, with $11,124 to pay for college expenses for a year a student might go out and get a cell phone, WAIT, I thought we were cutting back on state paid cell phones, there goes that idea.

Mr. Henry T. Perea, I think this calls for an audit, what do you think?

Yo, Cynthia.
Yeah, some of the fellows got together at Jupiter's last night. I had late-night donuts with Sacto TV personality, Suzanne Phan, last night. Cannot forget Top Dog!
Everyone's exhausted after 3 hours of shooting video, sound and still photos this afternoon. We started at 8:30 a.m. and back in our rooms at 9:30 p.m.
We were introduced to Final Cut Pro, professional film-editing software, today. Tomorrow we edit our pieces.
