Nadal's fourth French Open?

Spain's Rafael Nadal maintains high confidence of chalking up another victory on the red-clay courts of the French Open in Paris.
The young Spaniard is heavily favored to be victorious in the 128-man draw, but tennis fans are eager to see another battle between Nadal and the world's No. 1 Roger Federer.
If the defending three-time champion Nadal wins, he'll strong-arm his way to an elite group of players. Only Bjorn Borg has achieved four French Open titles in a row (1978-81) back in the days of wooden racquets.

America saves it's glorious banner

Despite a 4-2 advantage to Flamengo, Mexico's America continues to wave it's glorious banner for the millions of fans in their home country after a surprise 3-0 victory over the Brazilian squad in the Copa Libertadores.
Just what's up with the Aguilas is still a mystery in the Mexican Federation of Soccer. Maybe the taste has gone sour for the very relaxed, gum-chewing, World Cup goalie Guillermo Ochoa? Maybe it's the front office? The coaching? It just didn't work for the Aguilas in the Federation Mexicana de Futbol, where the century-old club finished last in the Clausura last Sunday.

There's hope for America

While the Aguilas' wings seem to be clipped in the Mexican Soccer Federation, they're growing new talons in the Copa Libertadores.
America is dead last in Mexico.
It's been stressful for America, because they're one of the highest-paid and oldest soccer clubs in the league, but, this season, they have yet to live up to the standards of world-class play.
It's been the same nightmare every weekend. Chalk up another one in the losses column and talk about how it will soon change for the better.

Mexico's U-23 are still undergrads

It could've have been much more impressive if the goal was earned.
Mexico's next generation of soccer players touted, at least they tried to tout, their stuff during a friendly exhibition match against Australia that ended in a 1-1 tie before more than 45,000 fans who cheered as the two national U-23 pre-select Olympic teams took to the field - also the home of the Oakland Raiders NFL team - inside McAfee Coliseum March 2.

Vazquez, Marquez: Whose the champ?

Could this be the third and final chapter in the World Boxing Council's championship bout between Israel Vazquez and Rafael Marquez?
This weekend, the pair will touch gloves then once again battle it out for the WBC super bantamweight title. On the line are bragging rights, millions of dollars in prize money, as well as which fighter will deliver the belt back to Mexico City. And that will be a huge fiesta, because both fighters were born in Mexico City.
