Report from the Field: Photos from Huron and Firebaugh
“I’ve got a hankering for some chorizo,” my co-worker, Dan, said to me Tuesday morning.
We had just finished covering a census event in Huron, and Dan was hungrily eyeing the strip of Mexican restaurants that dot Huron’s main street.
We wandered into “Mexican Café,” a joint one of the census workers had recommended.
I loved the look of this place, but don’t ask me about the food. I stuck with a warm glass of chocolate.
On Wednesday afternoon, I headed out to Firebaugh to cover the grand opening of a high-quality, low-income housing development.
The two-story, three-bedroom houses were very pretty, but I found myself struck by this view.
It seems as if, beyond this 21-unit development, there is nothing but fields.

Nice pictures! (You shoulda tried the food… hehe)
