As someone who works in downtown Fresno, I was super excited to attend the grand opening Wednesday morning of the new Fresh and Easy grocery store, located at Tulare and R streets.

A huge crowd of people flooded the store around 10 a.m., eager to take advantage of great deals, sample products, and check out the store that has been generating so much buzz. I braved the crowds to shoot some photos of the new store, and this is what I learned…

• Fresh and Easy has a beautiful selection of dried and canned beans! As a quasi-vegetarian who loves legumes in her soups, I was really excited…

• This customer was happy to talk about her first experience at the grocery store. She also took advantage of the burrito deal, and is going to sample the store’s whole-wheat tortillas.
