enchiladas1On Thursday evening, the Consulate of México in Fresno will be holding a free Mexican food tasting at Arte Américas. The event, which celebrates the 5th Annual Mexican Food Tasting and Cultural Week, will include dishes from seven local restaurants: El Bajío, Fajita Fiesta, Taco Grande, Toledo’s, Oaxaca, Los Amigos, and Las Adas Manzanillo.

The event, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., will also include acoustic music and regional dances. Free Mexican food from great restaurants, plus entertainment… Seriously, why would you NOT attend this event?? Hope to see you there!

Also on Vida’s calendar:

On Sunday, the Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will host the Latino Heritage Festival at California State University, Fresno. The free event, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., includes a Battle of the Bands, plus dancing and food.

Also on Sunday, there will be a Día de los Muertos procession from St. John’s Cathedral to Arte Américas. The procession begins at 3 p.m., and refreshments will be available at Arte for $1.
