Viva Mexico! FCC’s Grito Contest
It takes serious guts to get up on a stage in front of your peers, take a microphone in hand, and call out your best, loudest, longest , most stylized“Viva México!”
But Fresno City College students Adriana Vazquez, Mikey, and José Ordaz achieved this feat with flying (red, white, and green) colors during the Grito Contest, which was part of Fresno City College’s Mexican Independence Day celebration on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
I’m going to study these videos and practice at home (sorry, roommate!) – and then maybe I’ll be brave enough to compete in next year’s contest.
Adriana Vazquez won first place in the contest, and a $25 gift certificate to the school bookstore.
