From Salt Lake City, Utah, Mike Ruiz lost a split decision to Louie Byrd, who is the Colorado-New Mexico Champion for the National Golden Gloves Title.
If you must lose, this is the way you want to go: Ruiz lost, 3-2, but takes the silver medal from the National Golden Gloves.
