For a couple months now, I’ve been on the lookout for messages and slogans related to water. The California March for Water, which began Tuesday in Mendota, was the perfect opportunity to spot signs, posters, and even aerial banners related to agua.
The banner below reads, “If you like foreign oil, you’ll love foreign food.” (Sorry, the gusty winds blew the bottom of the sign under the truck.)
Unfortunately, I was stuck in a traffic jam on Highway 33, behind the thousands of marchers and a caravan of trucks and tractors, for the first hour or so of Tuesday’s march from Mendota to Firebaugh. At least it gave me the time to snap this photo.
I spotted this sign at the Fresno farm bureau last week.
And of course, the march participants carried many creative signs, written in Spanish and English.
I’ll be on the lookout for more signs and posters at the closing rally tomorrow at the San Luis Reservoir. And if you hear of or see any photos or water slogans, be sure to pass them along!
