No Way México Could Lose At Azteca; Next Up: Honduras

El Tricolor beat Costa Rica 2-0. Next up is Honduras on Wednesday.
It’s easy to say that México’s triumphant 2-0 victory over Costa Rica last Saturday was a sure bet.
The loss to United States (World Ranking is 17) was heartfelt, but not unforeseen. But it’s not a numbers game for El Tri, whose ranked 23rd, against the No. 32 Costa Rica. The win still is pretty good, but again, not unexpected. It’s what México needed for a confidence boost.
In the CONCACAF standings, México is second behind the U.S. After two matches, Honduras has a tie and a loss; México has won one and lost one; the U.S. has one win and one draw.
Next up: Honduras on Wednesday. Omar Bravo and Pavel Pardo (albeit PK) help to make El Tricolor a formidable contender, if many of my Mexican friends can just get over the loss to the U.S.
