Jaguares roar in Fresno and Sacramentoavatar

Various local Spanish radio stations in the Central Valley made Jaguares’ fans extra happy. On Monday and Tuesday, radio stations like BESO in Fresno and MAGIA in Sacramento held a special contest for fans to have the chance of their lifetime for a private meet and greet with rock en español band Jaguares.

I was lucky enough to get invited by the music label to attend one of those meet and greets at BESO 107.1 FM radio station in Fresno on Monday.  Of course I was there to do my job and interview the band about their Gammy nomiation and their album ’45′ but I do admit I was a little excited because I too am a fan of Jaguares (In case you are wondering, ”Célula Que Explota’ is my favorite song).

It was neat to see how the group of about 10 fans waited patiently to meet the band, some of them even had wooden carved Jaguar heads and a guitar for the band to sign! How cool was that!!  We waited for about 20 minutes and here walks in Saúl Hernández casually going around the room saying hello to everyone and being as cool as he can be.

I was amazed on how tall he really is, of course I’m only 5’3″ and I’m considered “chaparrita” but this man really did amazed me because of how humble and down to earth he really was. The rest of the band didn’t show up but I think for all of us there, Saúl was more than enough.

  2. My friend was there, she is the biggest Jaguares fan I know, she even has their logo tattooed on her back. Not only did she get to meet her favorite artists, but it happened on the day of her birthday. Too cool!
